Best Miami Restaurants South Beach

Which are the best hotels to stay in South Beach that are walking distance to all the shopping and hot spots?

I am going on vacation to Miami in August and I have never been to South Beach therefore Im clueless as to which hotel to stay in. I am not planning on renting a car so I would like to know if anyone knows of any hotels in South Beach that are walking distance to restaurants, shops, and night clubs. I would appreciate all the help I can get! thanks !
