Florida Everglades Facts
Can someone PLEASE explain to me why this nonsense persists about Bush “stealing” the 2000 election?
I’m getting really tired of this dead end argument about his “stealing” of the election.
The networks BLEW it. Plain and simple. They called Florida prematurely for Gore. When they did this, they overlooked one simple, yet glaring fact. The state of Florida is in TWO time zones. When the polls closed on the East coast, the state was leaning Gore’s way with the heavily Democratic Miami-Dade area and the Everglades. However, the heavily conservative Panhandle happens to be in the Central Time Zone, an hour behind EST, therefore the polls were STILL open.
Don’t you think the networks wanted to call Florida ASAP so that the voters in the panhandle would think it useless to still go to the polls, hearing that the state had been called for Gore?
The facts of the case prove he won and that Gore was trying to get election law changed DURING an election to suit his needs. Multiple media driven counts confirm Bush won and by a wider margin which is why the media doesn’t really pound on the stolen election thing much.
