Why is it so hard to find a job?
Im 20 years old. I have been applying for a part time/ full time job since late 2009/ early 2010. I have applied in SO MANY stores, restaurants, movie theaters, and all the managers say is ” we are not hiring”. now, lets be realistic, theres no way all those places i have applied havent hired within the last year and a half. because they have. How come i havent been given a chance? all my friends seem to find a job quite easily. is this bad luck? is it because they dont like the way i look? at my community college ive been applying since summer of 2010 and not a phone call. My friend applies and 2 weeks later gets a call. why is it so hard to find a job? yes i know about the economy . however there has to be work somewhere in the Miami area. … right? :/
Some of those places probably were hiring in the last year in a half. However, they were probably not hiring when you submitted your app. They are only required to keep your app for 90 days. Whenever you apply for a job and they tell you that they are not hiring, check back with them every couple of weeks to see if they started hiring. If you submitted an app and they are hiring, call back the next day and ask to speak to the hiring manager. You will appear determined and they will be willing to give you an interview. Good luck!
