Is South Beach a bad place to visit?
I was reading the reviews of South Beach on Trip Advisor and I was really shocked at some of the reviews. A lot of people seem to be disappointed with South Beach, especially within the last 6 months, prior to that, the reviews all seemed good, but it seems like it’s gone down hill since then. There are complaints of homeless people everywhere, trash, drug use, condoms and syringes on the beach and crime. Some reviews mentioned that the staff at restaurants are rude and that homeless people say racist things to people who walk past them. The general impression seems to be that South Beach is dirty and overrated.

I don’t mean to insult people who live in the area, but I’ve considered visiting and my honest impression from many reviews on Trip Advisor is that South Beach isn’t what it used to be. Is it true?
If it’s warm and there’s a beach, you’ll find the beach bums hanging out, as well as other types. Those comments are true for South Beach.
As with anyplace you visit…be careful. Enjoy what you came for, but err on the side of caution. South FL still is nice to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there again.
