Trendy Restaurants In Miami

trendy restaurants in miami
Ft. Lauderdale and Miami for the week of July 4th.?

Im going to Miami (SOBE- my first love) with my boyfriend and some friends, on the actual 4th of July but its a friday night, so what are the good spots? My favorite is Nikki Beach but Im not sure if they have any events planned. Im pretty familiar with the typical Ocean drive, Washington and Collins stuff and im sure there will be fireworks on the beach or something but is there any other really good spots besides Nikki Beach for the 4th? Also, were staying in Ft. Lauderdale, and we’ll spend other days throughout the week up there (7/1-7/8), so any ideas? We like outdoor restaurants/bars, good crowds young-middle aged, good music- mostly house type music but we like mainstream stuff too. Doesnt have to be too elite and trendy although we do like that stuff but are open to anything. Thanks!!

Don’t know about the bars on SOBE, but you should also check out the action on Friday and Saturday nights at the bars and clubs in Coolie Hammock, (200 SW 2nd ST) in Fort Lauderdale.

Also chill out on Fort Lauderdale beach. Best spots are at Life Guard tower #5, across from the Swimming Hall of Fame and up to #6 at Las Olas. The locals go for coffee and breakfast at St Bart’s Coffee shop across from lifeguard tower #5.

If you are adventurous try putting on a thong and going topless on South Beach. You can also thong on Fort Lauderdale beach, and even go topless if you have the courage, the life guards normally don’t ask you to cover up.

Rent bicycles and bike around Ft Lauderdale beach, Las Olas and down town. Bike around Victoria Park and Rio Vista.

(If you are here for a week it is often cost effective to buy low cost bikes from Walmart and sell them on when you leave.)

Eat at lunch at Mangoes on East Las Olas.

Eat thi food at Sukothi on Sunrise at the gateway shops.

Go to Running Wild for running shoes and good exercise wear.

Go to the bikini store one block back from the beach on Sunrise Blvd. Sign over store says something like Splish Splash buy one get one free. Best Bikini’s in town, imported from Brazil. (The rest of the stuff sold on the beach is junk)

Don’t sleep on the beach, they have patrols, but do, at least once, try a streak on the beach at sunrise.
